What Will Heaven be Like?
Question 1: What names does the Bible give to God’s Holy City?
The New Jerusalem, and the Lord is There.
Ezekiel 48:35 — It was round about eighteen thousand measures: and the name of the city from that day shall be, The LORD is there.
Revelation 21:2 — And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
Question 2: Where is the Holy City Now?
Somewhere in the heavens.
1 Kings 8:30 — And hearken thou to the supplication of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, when they shall pray toward this place: and hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place: and when thou hearest, forgive.
Question 3: Where will this city be after the millennium?
At the end of the millennium, the Holy City will come down to earth and settle in a valley where the Mount of Olives currently sits.
Zechariah 14:4, 10 — And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south…All the land shall be turned as a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem: and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Benjamin's gate unto the place of the first gate, unto the corner gate, and from the tower of Hananeel unto the king's winepresses.

And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. Question 4: What are some of the amazing features about this Holy City?
God Himself, including Jesus and the Holy Spirit, will dwell there on earth. And the Tree of Life that prolongs eternal life will be there.
Hebrews 11:16 — But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.

Question 5: But what will happen to sin and sinners?
All sin and sinners, including Satan and his evil angels, will be destroyed, never to exist again.
Malachi 4:1-3 — For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.
2 Peter 3:10, 13 — But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up…Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
Isaiah 47:14 — Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: there shall not be a coal to warm at, nor fire to sit before it.
Revelation 20:9-10 — And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
Question 6: What are the Attributes of this city (part 1)?
It’s a huge perfect square, 375 miles by 375 miles. The walls are 216 feet high. It has 12 gates, 3 on each side.
Revelation 21:12-21 — And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel: On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates. And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof. And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal. And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel. And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass. And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald; The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst. And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.
Question 7: What are the Attributes of this city (part 2)?
It has 12 foundations of 12 different precious stones. It also has golden streets, like transparent glass.

Question 8: Will the new earth be different from earth now (part 1)?
No more deserts, oceans, curse, or violence, and animals will all be tame and safe to love on.

Question 9: Will the new earth be different from earth now (part 2)?
Nothing bad can ever exist again. And children won’t ever have to worry about wild animals or bad humans ever again.

Question 10: Will children who didn’t have a chance to grow up be there?
Yes, they will.
Zechariah 8:5 — And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in the streets thereof.
Malachi 4:2 — But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.
Isaiah 11:8 — And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den.
Question 11: Will Heaven be boring (part 1)?
We will worship in the Holy City every Sabbath. We will have awesome music. We will also get to meet the ancient heroes of the faith.
Isaiah 66:22-23 — For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain. And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.
Isaiah 35:10 — And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
Isaiah 51:11 — Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.
Psalms 87:7 — As well the singers as the players on instruments shall be there: all my springs are in thee.
Revelation 14:2-3 — And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps: And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.

Question 12: Will Heaven be boring (part 2)?
We will study nature and animals. We will also listen to God make music. And best of all, we will be with Jesus for all eternity.

These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. 5 And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.

And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
Question 13: How can you make it to Heaven?
Confess and repent of your sins and accept Jesus. Obey Jesus out of love for Him, not to earn anything. And live the faith of Jesus.
1 John 1:9 — If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
John 1:12-14 — But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Revelation 3:17-19 — Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
