The Millennium Timeline

At the Beginning of the Millennium

•Major natural disasters, including earthquakes, giant hailstones, etc. (Rev. 16:18-21; Jer. 4:23-28, 25:33)

•Jesus returns for His people and does not touch the earth (Matt. 24:30-31; 1 Thess. 4:16-18)

•The Resurrection of the righteous, aka, the first resurrection(1 Thess. 4:16-18; Rev. 20:4-5)

•God’s people given immortality and glorified bodies (1 Cor. 15:51-55; 1 John 3:2; Phil. 3:20-21)

•The saved are caught up in the air where Jesus will be (1 Thess. 4:16-18)

•The living wicked will be destroyed by the glory of Jesus and the breath of His mouth (Isaiah 11:4; 2 Thess. 2:8)

•The wicked dead stay dead (Rev. 20:5)

•Jesus takes His people home to Heaven (John 13:33-26; 14:1-3; Rev. 20:4-5; 1 Thess. 4:16-18; Rev. 22:14)

•Satan is bound for the entire millennium (Rev. 20:1-7)

During the Millennium

•The earth is returned similar to and remains in the “without form and void” state prior to creation (Rev. 16:17-21; Jer. 4:23-28, 25:33)

•Satan is stays on earth the whole time with no living humans to tempt and annoy (Rev. 20:1-7; Jer. 4:23-28, 25:33)

•God’s people help Him with the judgment of the wicked (Rev. 20:4; 1 Cor. 6:2-3)

•No living humans inhabit earth during the millennium (Jer. 4:25; Rev. 6:15-17; Isaiah 11:4)

The End of the Millennium

•Jesus and the saints return to earth (Zech. 14:5; Rev. 21:1-4)

•Jesus touches His feet on Mt. Olivet, it splits and becomes a valley (Zech. 14:4, 10)

•The New Jerusalem settles in that valley (Zech. 14:4, 10; Rev. 21:2)

•Wicked dead are resurrected (John 5:28-29; Rev. 20:5)

•Satan “loosed” from the “bottomless pit” and gathers the wicked to tempt them and attack the Holy City (Rev. 20:5, 7-9)

•Their attack is halted, when the books of judgment for the wicked are opened, as is the Book of Life (Rev. 20:11-12)

•The wicked realize the attack is hopeless and turn on satan and his demons to attack them (Ezekiel 28:6-19)

•Fire falls from God out of heaven to form the lake of fire, which devours the wicked (Ps. 11:6; Rev. 14:11, 20:9-10; Nahum 1:9-10; Mal. 4:1-3; Isaiah 47:14; Jude 7; 2 Peter 2:6)

•Some wicked suffer a short time, some long, with Satan suffering the longest (Rev. 20:10; Luke 12:47-49)

•Earth is purified by the fire, and God recreates it to its original Edenic perfection (2 Pet. 3:12; Isaiah 66:21-24; Rev. 21:1-4)

•No memory exists of the old sinful world, save the scars of Jesus (Zech. 13:6; Rev. 21:4-5)
